Risk/Reward Potential The risk rankings (1-5) have been assigned by affiliate Ameritas Investment Advisors to assist you in evaluating the relative risk level and reward potential of each investment option. 1 is Lower Risk, Lower Reward Potential; 5 is Higher Risk, Higher Reward Potential Objective/Primary Investments
Dreman Small Mid Cap Value VIP, Class A Small-Cap Value 1 2 3 4 5 The portfolio seeks long-term capital appreciation. Under normal circumstances, the portfolio invests at least 80% of net assets in undervalued common stocks of small U.S. companies.
Global Thematic VIP, Class A World Stock  1 2 3 4 5 The portfolio seeks long-term capital growth. Under normal circumstances, the portfolio invests at least 80% of net assets in common stocks and other equities of companies throughout the world that the portfolio managers consider “blue chip” companies.

The stocks of small- and mid-size companies carry additional risks because they tend to be less predictable and their share prices more volatile than more established companies. Additionally, small companies have business risk, liquidity risk, and are subject to greater stock price fluctuations.

Investments in overseas or emerging nation investment options involve different risks than investments in more established economies and will be affected by greater volatility of currency, exchange rates, and overall economic and political factors.
